I woke up this morning with a sense of relief.  This is the day that Spencer and I had planned our permanent move to Italy.  However, we changed our date to October due to Gregg’s work schedule.  As I look around our house at the mountain of packing I still need to complete, I’m relieved that I still have a couple of months.

Thankfully Gregg will be home soon to help me finish preparing for our life changing move.  I have dreamed of living in Italy since my first trip in 2005.  I’m drawn to La Dolce Vita.  When we land in Italy I feel at home.  I’m excited about our future and look forward to living in our little Italian village and seeing our dear friends who have become family this past year.  Italy is worth the wait.

I made this move – ALONE – three and a half years ago and, though Italian bureaucracy often made things difficult and unnecessary (to my mind), I have never regretted it for a single moment. I have been incredibly happy here. By degrees – it took about two years – I let go of my hankerings for Ireland and now my true home is here in Italy forever. Good luck with everything. 🙂
