Waking before dawn can be a blessing or a curse depending on your nature. I switched from a late riser to an early bird upon the birth of my first child. Now 18 years later I’ve embraced my body’s instinct to wake before sunrise. I absolutely love exploring Italian towns in the early morning hours. My last post focused on an early morning tour of Florence. Now I’d like to share images from my sunrise stroll in Maiori, Italy. This Amalfi Coast town combines vertical terrain with fantastic beaches. Enjoy part one of my morning in Maiori-a photo tour.
Corso Reginna is one of the main streets through Maiori. You will find numerous restaurants, shops, bars and a brand new laundromat.
If you look in the picture below you will will see a formidable structure on top of the mountain. The Castello of San Nicola de Thoro-Plano is open for tours and a must see when visiting Maiori.

My next post, Morning in Maiori: A Photo Tour-Part Two will highlight more of this seaside town’s stunning beauty. For more information on Maiori, please see my previous posts including Where and What to Eat in Maiori, Italy, and Five Reasons Why I Love Maiori, Italy.
